Gucci 2012 Pre Fall

I was reviewing the Gucci 2012 Pre Fall collection and although I was not in love with the floral print, I did find a few pieces that caught my eye. Gucci has always been a brand for fur coats and vests; fox, mink, beaver, but never faux. For this season, they gave another few pieces that will no doubt be classics for your closet. There was a pair of navy jodhpurs that I know will look good with flats, heels, or boots. A great multi purpose pant. As I own more than a couple of pairs of Gucci pants, I know these will fit great. There was a silver blazer with a peplum like feel that piqued my interest. I'd change the belt, but I think it looks great. Frida Giannini included a couple of lady like dresses that I was interested in. These days, I'm playing around with the idea of a "mature" dress with a pair of leather gloves, a boxy exotic skinned handbag, and maybe a piece of statement jewelry... It could be a look.

Givenchy 2012 Pre Fall

For those of you who don't know... I am in awe of Riccardo Tisci. There is not a season that goes by that I am not happily sucked into his Catholic Gothic fairy tales. I want to go wherever he is willing to take me. The Givenchy 2012 Pre Fall collection, shot outside on the streets of New York, was full of structured silhouettes. I love jackets and coats with a tough, androgynous feel. It's impossible to put on a coat like this and not feel strong, not feel like you can take on the day. This collection also featured a beige on cream lace like print transformed into soft, but serious looking dresses. I thought to myself, "Where could I go in this dress?" Dinner along the Champs-Elysees?

Yves Saint Laurent Belle Du Jour

I like to think of myself as a serious collector. One of my collections is the YSL BELLE DU JOUR. So far, I have four that I have purchased in different colors and fabrics to suit most occasions. Reasonably priced, they are the perfect investment for a multi use clutch. Year round you can always find main colors like black and red, however every new collection comes with seasonal colors. The "YSL" stitched down the front will never go out of style and will always remain classic. This bag is simple chic at its best. You cannot go wrong with THIS BAG. Some people feel clutches should only be used for evening, but I love a clutch during the day. They are perfect when you are traveling light on your way out to meet your girlfriends for a light lunch in Notting Hill. I often pair one of these with a white v neck t- shirt, fitted blazer, denim, and a pair of cute flat sandals. EACH BAG will come with it's own dust cover. It is important to save them for storage and always use them when packing for a trip. When investing in well made products, it is important to take care of them. Right now, I've got my eye on two new colors for the summer. A classic patent leather beige and a navy blue for when I'm in a serious mood... The list keeps growing.
