New In - Fendi 2Jours

I am so happy to introduce the newest member of my handbag collection, my FENDI 2JOURS tote. A much needed and welcomed addition to the family. I had been searching for a bag that I could use everyday and that would be useful throughout all seasons. I found this in the 2Jours.
THE 2JOURS was originally released in July 2012 and has since been re imagined in multiple fabrics and colors. I opted for a classic black calf leather that features a striped silk logo lining, inside zippered pocket, and black and gold lacquered detailing. The name 2Jours is a play on the french word toujours, which means always. The handbag also came with a hanging ID tag with the option to add your initials. I was given a choice of gold lettering or embossing. I choose the embossing as I felt it was the classier option. I believe that customization makes the piece more special. The embossing makes it personal and adds another element to its story.
The bag is available in a slightly smaller size that features a detachable shoulder strap, but for the sizable investment, I decided to go big. It is quite large and when filled very heavy, but I love it. I just don't think a smaller bag would do.

Fashionable Art - Angela China

I was recently shopping around Soho when I found this painting at the corner of Prince St. and West Broadway. It is a piece by local artist ANGELA CHINA. She was selling some of her awesome art work and I couldn't resist making a purchase. We had a nice little chat about her process, background, and inspiration. Ultimately, I choose this piece from her GumShoe collection. A lot of her work bore a heavy fashion influence and I liked them all, but there was something about these shoes. I loved the idea of a pair of Louboutin like shoes slightly blemished by a piece of chewing gum. I think it's a bit of a beautiful contradiction. The piece roughly measures about 13 inches by 25 inches and has a black wooden frame. China made a print of and painted over to create a nice textured effect. It was a much needed addition to my archives as I'd like for all facets of my life to be fashionable.

Alexander McQueen 2013 Pre Fall

I was recently perusing the Pre Fall 2013 collections when I came across the ALEXANDER MCQUEEN show. I was struck and as I clicked through the looks, I couldn't help but think these are the chicest pilgrims I've ever seen. Ever. Large square buckles and priest like capes left little doubt as to the overall theme and influence. I did however feel a sort of contradiction between the highly detailed work and and a sense of austerity. The looks all featured a simple color palette, severe hair parted down the center, and minimalist make up that contributes to an impression of purity. I absolutely fell in love with the cinched waists and long chain necklaces, not to mention the high waisted pant that needs to find a home in my closet. So, are these woman travelers on a journey? Perhaps on a quest for a more fashionable religion? Well then, let us set a course for a new world! What time do we sail?
