The 2012 Fall/Winter Yves Saint Laurent collection was the very last show from Signore Stefano Pilati. Where does this leave the future of YSL? Will the house continue to produce the product that I know and love? Where will Stefano go? Who will replace him? A piece from this collection will be added to the list in a bid to obtain a small piece of history... and a new jacket. Oh, how I wish I could have been there, rubbing elbows with the editors and taking Twit pics. The show was clean, sharp, and had me thinking about where I would want to wear a fur stole to. As always, the pants were amazing and the blazers were strong, and if I'm not mistaken, there was a little bit of chain mail thrown in for good measure. There was a recurring print with a reference to a calla lily. I decided to do a little research about the flower (I googled it). While there were many theories as to its significance, one really resonated with me; rebirth and resurrection. Maybe this flower was the most appropriate illustration for what the future of YSL holds... Stefano we will miss you.
