There seem to be two things that I'm always searching for in my life, Fashion and love. They are just things I can not live without. Sometimes they happen to be one in the same. On this day, in a city of over 8 million people, I found LOVE on the corner of 6th Avenue.
My BALENCIAGA top is the short sleeve Petal Jacket from Fall / Winter 2013, Alexander Wang's debut collection for the house. Inspired by Cristobal himself, it takes its name from the petal shape silhouette. Originally, the jacket had a little more volume in front, but I had it tailored to fit me better. Now when I put it on, it feels as though this piece was made especially for me.
The black and white pants are from the Pre Fall 2013CHLOE collection and were featured in look number 2. I didn't know I needed a pair of printed pants until I tried these on. High waisted and slightly cropped, they were perfect. The shoes are the classic YSL TRIBTOO PUMP in textured black patent leather and I paired them with my coordinating YSL BELLE DU JOUR. I can't say enough how these two pieces have been among some of my best investments.
The LOVE sculpture is a piece of iconic Pop Art by the artist Robert Indiana. The original image was produced as a christmas card for the Museum of Modern Art in 1964. LOVE has since been re imagined as a postage stamp and several other types of renderings displayed around the world in over 40 countries. I was happy to find LOVE here in New York City, but I know that it exists everywhere. I've seen it with my own eyes.
