From the Shoe Closet - Dolce & Gabbana Studded Brogues

It should come as no surprise that my footwear purchases tend to lead towards the high heel variety. I just can't help myself; I will always favor a heel over a flat. I rarely pick a shoe for comfort. However, I've come to understand that a super high heel isn't always... practical. My latest shoe investment comes in the form of these DOLCE & GABBANA STUDDED BROGUES from Fall / Winter 2013. The brogue is a style typically found amongst mens shoes and takes it name from the decorative perforations called "broguing". I was surprised to be attracted to such a masculine design, but before I knew it I was trying them on. As I tied the laces and looked down, the golden studs seemed like well placed jewelry on my feet. That made me smile. How could I not take them home?

Flower Power

I'm not usually a fan of FLORAL PATTERNS when it comes to my wardrobe. I much prefer my flowers in the form of white tea roses in square, glass table displays. However, as life would have it, this frock stole my heart. This particular dress is from Dolce and Gabbana's 2013 Spring/Summer collection. It features a built in corset, grosgrain belt, and a black center back panel. It is fitted to promote a curvy silhouette and perfect for dinner in any Italian city making it quintessentially DOLCE. The floral print used features typical Sicilian plants often found in decorative pottery. In ancient times, women used blossoms to embellish and ornate themselves.

To complete the look, I wore my Gucci Noah HALF DORSAY NUDE PUMP and I carried my black patent YSL BELLE DU JOUR. These pictures were taken in the Meatpacking neighborhood of New York City. I like the area because there is always good food and warm sunsets.

We'll Always Have Paris

I recently travelled to the City of Light to attend my very first Paris Fashion Week accompanied by my mother; Dad opted to stay home. I've never been to Paris before so making the trip to attend PFW was very special. (Well, technically, this was my second trip to Paris as my mother was pregnant with me the last time she visited the country. That counts right?) The weather was crisp, the buildings beautiful, and the city was full of Love. That's definitely my kind of town. The itinerary for the trip was to attend a Fashion show, eat way too many crepes, shop, and of course do some site seeing. First stop, the Eiffel Tower.
